So sorry, I do nearly all of my blogging from my phone.
I'll leave those previous posts (maybe you'll enjoy them, too)... but they were intended for something else completely.
Cheers!

1st recommendation tonight was Auratus, Alvarinho... I can't remember specifically, but know that I've had it & I enjoyed it ... so Marc suggested this. This is the "Big Brother"
It definitely has a sweetness to it, but overall, I wouldn't call it a sweet wine. Driving here tonight, I thought I wanted a burger... Once I took a couple of sips, I knew that I wanted the trout. Perfect pairing. The sweetness of the golden raisins with the buttery hollandaise made for a nice accompaniment.
About $19 @ 3rdCorner- Dorado, Alvarinho 2010
Brunch & bottomless mimosas. A perfect Easter.
$16.95 @ 3rdCorner
(notice the decanter in the background, they have high hopes)
This is much dryer than expected. Big tannins & overall very pleasant. It drinks more like a cab. You might want a steak with it (or even a rack of lamb), but I'm fine just enjoying it alone.
Found @ a Cooking with Class tasting last Saturday & grabbed a couple bottles. I think it was $19/bottle. Epic wines
Yummy, cheers!
Well, Dave's working late tonight & I know I wouldn't get anything done if I went home... Soooo, I'm out for a nice glass of wine.
In the mood for a white, but something with a little more body than a savignon blanc & I've never been a fan of chardonnay... Maybe a Gavi or Soave... With Ed's help I selected a Verdejo & it's exactly what I was craving! (new wine to add to my study list ;) )
To top it all off, It's only $14 bucks @ 3rdCorner!
Here's to research & exploration!
Cheers!
What a perfect Sunday afternoon! Dave came home with the craving for sangria... Some frozen fruit & berries with cheap sav blanc from Trader Joe's (both of which are always stocked in our house). Easy & perfect.
80° sunny & breezy... Now all we need is a BBQ.
Cheers- Mi
Chilean Syrah. Deep & peppery. Only $13.49/bottle @ 3rdCorner. Mmmmmm...
Yeayyy! Mi! I'll post what we think of them if I remember any of it. Haha.... That probably won't happen.
Opening a 15 year old crate... Wow, there's a certain amount of ceremony (even when wearing pj's & using a plastic handled screwdriver)- it just FEELS so special.
Only 3 bottles, so I don't know that we'll get to taste any of it... I will be SURE to post if we do!
Without a bottle of champagne, but a craving for mimosas... Very good!
I'm not sure this would be as good with oranges, but tangelos or tangerines work!
